Vide MOD letter No 22(1)/01/US(WE)D(Res) dated 08 Mar 04 (copy enclosed), the Government of India has sanctioned exemption of payment of ECHS contribution by “War Widows”, that is, those who are in receipt of Liberalized Family Pension.
2. A “War Widow” is one whose spouse has died due to any of the actions listed at Appendix to this letter.
