ECHS caters for Medicare of all Ex-Servicemen in receipt of pension as also dependents to include wife/husband, legitimate children upto the age of 25 years and wholly dependent parents. In addition, unmarried / unemployed / divorced / widowed daughters and permanently disabled sons who are dependent on the member are entitled benefit of membership.
2. The criteria for granting eligibility on the basis of permanent disability are as under :-
(a) Onset of disability should be prior to attainment of 25 years of age.
(b) Permanent disability should be certified by Service Classified Specialist as per format of certificate enclosed at Appendix A.
(c) The condition of disability should be mentioned in the records of pensioner and the disabled dependent son should be eligible for family pension.
