ELIGIBILITY FOR JOINING ECHS : RECRUITS EARNING DISABILITY PENSION

1. Please refer to this Organisation letter No B/49708-RECT/AG/ECHS dated 11 Jan 2005 and letter of even No dated 17 Feb 2005.

2. It is clarified that a Recruit who is in receipt of medical/disability pension is alone eligible to join the ECHS. The following dependents of the recruit are NOT permitted to be included for ECHS benefits :-

(a) Parents.

(b) Wife.

(c) Children.

3. The recruit who was already married prior to joining the training at the Regimental Centre would be permitted to have his wife and children, if any, included as his dependents. This fact would be checked from the Part II Order published. However, the parents of such a recruit would not be entitled to be shown as dependents.

4. The cases of Recruits who have already joined ECHS will be reviewed accordingly and names of dependents, if any, will be deleted immediately.

5. All instructions on the above subject issued earlier are hereby superseded.
